Make Change Count for Schools
IPS is incredibly excited to partner with Make Change Count for Schools to provide smart parking meter “Donation Stations” as a collection outlet at schools across San Diego. Proceeds from the “Donation Stations” will benefit school programs and activities to educate and enrich the lives of young students. As a part of the corporate social responsibility at IPS, partnering with Make Change Count for Schools allows IPS to enrich the lives of those in the community around our headquarters in San Diego.
With the IPS smart parking meters installed at local schools, students and faculty can monitor charity campaigns through our sophisticated data management system. The data management system can monitor variables such as deposit amount, payment type, donation times, and even can notify faculty and students to empty the coin box when full. With our data management system, monitoring charity campaign success is made easy with the ability to monitor when donations peaked during a campaign to help determine its campaign success. IPS also provides patrons with a copy of the donation receipt at the end of the year to have for their own records and tax purposes.
Two high school students founded Make Change Count for Schools, modeled after the downtown San Diego charity to end homelessness called “Make Change Count.” IPS smart parking meter “Donation Stations” for the Make Change Count for Schools program have been installed at Los Peñasquitos Elementary and Black Mountain Middle School with more schools coming in the near future.
